Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) have been spreading across the global economy for the past 25 years (see our Data Visualization Tool FTA VIS).

Recently we have been witnessing the emergence of mega-regional trade agreements, such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). These new generation agreements do not only deal with tariffs, but also with issues such as government procurement and private litigation. Countries participating in these agreements are supposed to benefit the most. However, these agreements will also have an impact on third country economies in various ways.

Which welfare impacts would TTIP, TPP, RCEP or FTAAP have on your country?

To shed light on this and other questions, we have produced fact sheets for nearly 120 countries. These 2-page factsheets show a comprehensive summary of welfare impacts through trade deals on a variety of factors for each country. These factors include:

  • top imports and exports per product
  • top imports and exports per trade partner
  • impact on sectoral added values

Furthermore, our fact sheets also provide you with general trade data for each state, such as:

  • other trade agreements in effect for the country and their mean depth level
  • general data like the country’s poverty and GDP growth rates

Our Factsheets aim at showing all these effects and numbers in an insightful and user-friendly way. Just follow this link and start learning about trade effects on your country now!
