Peter Walkenhorst is Senior Project Manager in Bertelsmann Stiftung’s Europe’s Future Program, where he works on transatlantic relations as well as on U.S. and European policies towards China. Previously, he was a member of the foundation’s Germany and Asia Program, responsible for projects on the systemic conflict with China and social cohesion in Asia. He has also worked on projects dealing with global governance, philanthropy, and civil society. He is the author and editor of several books and articles on social cohesion in Asia, global governance, the philanthropic sector, as well as German nationalism. Before joining the Bertelsmann Stiftung, Peter studied history and public law in Germany and the United States. He received his doctorate from the University of Bielefeld and holds a MA in History from the University of Massachusetts at Boston.
