Most recently, former ambassador Martin Erdmann (*1955) was the German Ambassador to the Republic of Turkey (2015-2020). Previously, he represented Germany as Permanent Representative with the rank of Ambassador to the North Atlantic Council (NATO 2010-2015). From 1995 to 1999, he was Spokesman of the Foreign Office during the terms of Foreign Ministers Klaus Kinkel (F.D.P. – Free Democratic Party) and Joseph Fischer (Alliance 90/The Greens).
