Vita

Kalum Rock joined the Bertelsmann Stiftung in August of 2023 as an intern in the Europe’s Future program. He is currently a master's student of the TransAtlantic Masters Program (TAM) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. His research focuses on European Governance, with a focus on transatlantic relations. As an Irish national, his academic interest also includes the issue of Northern Ireland and the effects of Brexit. Prior to his time at Bertelsmann, he worked at Deutsch-Amerikanisches Institut Nürnberg, as well as the Nuremberg Human Rights Center. He received his undergraduate degree in Political Science and Philosophy at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg. His bachelor's thesis dealt with the issue of Atheism and irreligion in U.S. politics.
