Sylvia is a Policy Analyst in the German Federal Ministry of Finance. Before joining the Ministry, she has worked for the Bertelsmann Stiftung for five years and was a member of the Europe’s Future team. Her research interests include European economic policy, European trade policy and the challenges society and the European Union are facing due to populism as well as the impact of the latter on global trade.
Sylvia accomplished a French-German double master’s degree in European Affairs and Political Science from SciencesPo Paris and Freie Universität Berlin. During her studies, she worked as a student assistant for the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP), completed internships with the German Foreign Office and the Bundestag and has been a voluntary project coordinator for Polis180, a young grassroots think-tank on European and foreign affairs.
