Torben Stühmeier is working as a senior analyst in scientific policy consulting for the Monopolies Commission since 2021. There he focuses on competition and regulation issues in digital markets and telecommunications markets. Before joining the Monopolies Commission, he worked as a project manager in the economic policy programme of the Bertelsmann Foundation. Torben studied economics at the University of Bielefeld and worked as a research assistant at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and the University of Dusseldorf. He received his doctorate in economics in 2011 and conducted research as a Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence and as an assistant professor for Industrial Economics / Microeconomics at the University of Münster.
